Justin Hockaday “Summer: 1993”

The ambiance that beat down on the pavement

Was children playing.

Sweat.

Swooning jezebels,

Swayed gazes,

Liquor spilt for daily libations.

Notions of love and stoned thoughts.

Wilted Naismith in the sun.

Shaded park benches.

Carnival evening attractions,

Himalayan emotions from her full lips.

Cool breeze,

Ice cream in the moonlight.

Enthused by a subtle touch,

Staring black pupils between lovers.

Summer:  1993
